The challenge we face
We feel that it is important for our employees to feel at home in our organisation. We strive to establish a safe work environment and ensure that our employees are healthy and competent. To us, good employment practice means that we offer career and development opportunities, and appropriate pay and benefits.
We feel that it is important for our employees to increase their knowledge. In a work environment where new developments follow rapidly on the heels of the old and where food safety is more important than ever, employees must follow training and courses. We are constantly training our employees in the areas of safety, quality, animal welfare, load lifting, ergonomics and hearing protection. We train our employees through Safety Guard Academy, an e-learning portal that makes knowledge, instructions and training courses available electronically. The portal is available in a range of languages. In addition, our employees can follow various courses, such as language courses, quality programmes, Company Emergency Response (BHV) and specific programmes tailored to the fresh produce sector.
Several of our companies are also recognised work placement companies in the fields of ICT, administration, technical services and quality. As such, we train students following MBO courses (vocational education and training).
Working in production is physically taxing. Bearing in mind the growing number of older employees, the VanDrie Group is focused on sustainable employability and professional mobility. As such, we provide employees with additional guidance and information on ways to remain employable in a physically taxing profession. Working together with individual employees, the VanDrie Group does all it can to help anyone who is off sick to recover so that they can return to work.
